- SpaceX plans to conduct another test launch of its super-heavy Starship rocket no earlier than May 15, Elon Musk announced. This is a continuation of a series of test flights in which SpaceX is practicing both the Super Heavy booster and the Starship upper stage.
Such launches typically include testing of stage separation, atmospheric maneuvers, and controlled reentry systems. However, the overall mission plan remains unchanged: Starship V3 will not reach orbit, and the second stage is still planned to splash down in the Indian Ocean. Previously, it was reported that the flight could take place on May 12.
Earlier, SpaceX delivered the Super Heavy Booster 19 booster, which will be used on the 12th flight, to the launch pad. Starship is a fully reusable super-heavy rocket system being developed by Elon Musk's SpaceX. It is designed to deliver cargo and people to low-Earth orbit, the Moon, and Mars.
