EnigmaCast – a free Android TV app for your Enigma2 receiver
Hi all,
I'd like to share EnigmaCast, a free Android TV app I've been building for my own Enigma2 setup (SF8008). It brings live satellite TV, the EPG, recordings and IPTV together in one interface you can drive entirely with the remote. It's free, without ads, and still in beta, so feedback is very welcome.
Highlights
Live TV & zapping
• Own tuner per TV: every TV streams its own channel, so several TVs can watch different channels at once. You can also mirror the receiver instead.
• Fast zapping with CH+/CH−, number entry and "previous channel", plus a dense channel list with picons, now/next and progress bars.
• Smart tuner check: shows who is using the tuners and suggests channels on the same transponder.
• Multiple receivers, with automatic failover when all tuners are busy.
• Timeshift, picture-in-picture, radio, transcoding and automatic quality.
OSD & guide
• A clean channel banner with signal, satellite and track info.
• A quick options bar for audio, subtitles, picture format, audio delay, a per-channel audio boost, a sleep timer and stream info.
• A full EPG grid up to 7 days ahead, cached offline, plus AutoSwitch reminders and teletext.
Recordings & timers
• Record on the receiver (timer) or on the TV, from the guide, search or the OSD.
• Series recording via AutoTimer, and handling of tuner conflicts.
• Play recordings with resume and progress bars.
IPTV
• Use several Xtream Codes or M3U providers, or the playlists already on your receiver. Bring your own subscription; none is included.
• Live TV, catch-up, films and series, and hiding categories.
• IPTV channels without a guide borrow the EPG of the matching satellite channel.
Films, series & sport
• "Movies on TV today" from your own satellite channels, with TMDB artwork, info pages, Continue watching and next episode.
• A soccer page with live scores, standings, match details and the channel showing the match.
Profiles & sync
• Up to 6 profiles ("Who's watching?"), each with an optional PIN.
• An optional sync server that runs on the receiver itself, with no cloud needed. It syncs profiles, settings, favourites, resume positions and watched marks between all your TVs. You install and update it with one click from the app.
Hotel / B&B mode
• A guest-only TV with a welcome screen and a Wi-Fi QR code, and only the channels you choose.
• Settings protected by a PIN, plus a one-click cleanup for the next guest.
• Autostart as the TV's home app.
More
• A phone companion app works as a remote and keyboard.
• Receiver tools: power control, a signal meter, OSCam status and AutoDetect of receivers.
• Custom key mapping and 7 skins.
• Languages: English, Dutch, German, Italian and French.
• HDMI passthrough (AC3/E-AC3/DTS) and audio sync.

• An Android TV / Google TV device (Android ___ or newer).
• An Enigma2 receiver with OpenWebif (tested on ___ with ___).
• Optional: SSH access to the receiver for the sync server.

Requirements
• An Android TV / Google TV device with Android 9 or newer.
• Any Enigma2 receiver with OpenWebif and the standard stream port 8001 (Vu+, Dreambox, Zgemma, Octagon, Gigablue, …). Developed and tested on an Octagon SF8008 with OpenATV and OPENPLI.
• Optional: SSH access to the receiver for the sync server (Python 3 with sqlite3; it is installed automatically where the feed provides it).

How to install on your TV:
1. Install "Downloader" by AFTVnews from the Google Play Store on your TV.
2. Open Downloader and enter the code 1451275.
3. Allow installing from unknown sources when asked, then tap Install.
After that, EnigmaCast updates itself from within the app.
